Credit card ID verification numbers
This additional number (fraud protection) checking system has been created so that if someone gets possession of your credit card numbers they also need to have possession of your card in order to know what your v-code numbers are. American Express calls it the CID (Card Identification Number). For MasterCard, it is the CVC2 (Card Validation Code). Visa calls this number the CVV2 (Card Verification Value).

With credit transactions - for your protection and ours - we request the additional "V-code" Verification Code from your credit card.

If your credit card does not have one of these unique ID numbers, please contact your credit card company and obtain a new one that is protected in this way. Most online merchants now require the number and you will be glad to have it. Transactions must have the correct number off your card put in the Verification Number field or they cannot be processed by our system.

This Verification Code is found in different places depending on what type of credit card that you have.
